Movies have messages, and movies influence what people think, including what people think about God. Big blockbusters often attracting half the population to view them and thereby grossing millions at the box office each weekend. Moviemakers have become our primary storytellers. They interpret reality for us and act as a kind of cultural glue.
This summer, we begin a new teaching series as we discover the spiritual lessons found in some of the biggest box office hits.

"Famous last words" is more than a cliché. When notable men and woman are about to die the world waits to hear their final last words of insight and wisdom. Then those quotes are repeated worldwide. This is also true with a dying loved one. Gathered at his or her side, the family strains to hear every whispered syllable of blessing, encouragement and advice, knowing it will be the final message. One of the most knowledgeable, influential, and beloved men of history is the apostle Paul. And we have his famous last words. As the was Paul's final letter it reveals his heart and his priorities - sound doctrine, steadfast faith, confident endurance and lasting love - which he imparts with young Timothy, who the letter was for.
Based off of 2 Timothy, our new series 'Made for More' is about sharing this insight and wisdom that was given to Timothy and applying it to our own lives over one thousand nine hundred and fifty years later.

Parenting [Part One] // David Morrison //12th March 2017
Throughout history, social changes have presented many different challenges to parents. No more so than in the past 100 years. Poverty, disease, cruel working conditions, war – these have all deeply affected how parents raised children in our own country (all of these things continue to be prevalent in other parts of the world, I know!). We are bombarded with advice and guidance from the experts, and perhaps there is much wisdom contained in what they have to say. Some of them, anyway! However, we have in the Bible the most reliable source on which to base our parenting approach, since being a parent is just another form of human relationship, albeit our most intimate. We need to search the scriptures then for those foundations that will enable us to discern what practical advice is sound and what is not. It is in our regular study of God’s word that we also develop our increasing sense of His unfathomable love for us. He is our god, good Father
Readings:
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged
(Colossians 3: 21)
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;’
(Proverbs 24: 3)
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
(Ephesians 4: 29)
People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it”
(Luke 18: 15 – 17)

Our New Song...
Good Good Father//Chris Tomlin//ft. Pat Barrett
Lyrics
Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think you're like
But I've heard the tender whispers of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you're pleased
And that I'm never alone
You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we're all searching
For answers only you provide
'Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word
You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
'cause you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
Oh, it's love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still [3x]
Into love, love, love
[3x:]
You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
You're a Good, Good Father
(you are perfect in all of your ways)
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are

A series designed to help you learn the love languages of the people in your life so you can love them better. What matters most in our world is that Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Love is the measure of our humanity. Love is the purpose of our lives. Love is all that matters. In fact, life is all about love. We are not trying to create the kind of people who know a lot but who love a lot. There are five love languages - touch, words, time, giving and service - each week looked at one of them.
